REALbasic is an object-oriented programming language that is based on the BASIC language. It was developed by REAL Software. REALbasic is a cross-platform development vehicle. You can use REALbasic to create software for Windows, Macintosh and Linux from a single set of source code! The Xojo programming environment and programming language is developed and commercially marketed by Xojo, Inc. Of Austin, Texas for software development targeting macOS, Microsoft Windows, Linux, iOS, the Web and Raspberry Pi. Xojo uses a proprietary object-oriented BASIC dialect, formerly known as REALbasic, but now known as Xojo. Random ramblings on software, electronics, and more. Welcome to the REALbasic community maintained manual for beginning and intermediate users of the REALbasic computer programming language.
Our Purpose[edit]
This project is not an effort to recreate existing REALbasic documentation. Instead, our goal is create materials that can be used to teach programming skills using REALbasic. We want contributors to assume the readers of these pages are new not only to REALbasic, but to programming in general. Our goal is a complete beginners' guide to programming, not a guide to advanced techniques in REALbasic.
Teachers and students are our primary audience. A secondary audience would be those individuals wanting to learn programming independently using REALbasic.
