How To Install A Ps1 Modchip

A modchip (short for modification chip) is a small electronic device used to alter or disable artificial restrictions of computers or entertainment devices.Modchips are mainly used in video game consoles, but also in some DVD or Blu-ray players. They introduce various modifications to its host system's function, including the circumvention of region coding, digital rights management, and copy.

Installing PS2 ModChips

Introduction

To play your backed-up PlayStation 2 games you MUST have a ModChip installed in your PlayStation 2 console. A ModChip is an electronic chip that is added to the PlayStation, PS One, PS2 or Dreamcast game console - modifying it to boot up all CDs. It allows you to play EVERY IMPORT GAME and EVERY CD-R BACKUP. During the Boot sequence the console checks the Boot Information on the CD. This information is missing on Backups. Import Games show a foreign one. The ModChip injects the correct boot information. Our chips work in EVERY Playstation, PS One, PS2 or Dreamcast console! The chipset includes Full Color Wiring Diagrams, Installation Guide, Wires and Solder!
How Long Does It Take?

ModChips are easy to install and takes anywhere between 15-20 minutes. You will simply unscrew a couple of screws on your Sony PlayStation2 Game Console and now you can connect them without the use of solder. You will need tweezers and a screw driver.
What Kind of ModChip Will You Need and Where Can You Get One?
You can go down to your local Computer store (Best Buy, Circuit City, etc) to see if they have them in stock. Or you can get them online cheap. They are definitely worth the investment.
